Printer and bookseller Sébastien Gryphe used this printer's mark as a sort of logo or trademark in the books he printed in Lyon, France in the 15th-16th century. Is it the most bad-ass of printer's marks ever concocted? It's got to be right up there. The gryphon is majestic, the backdrop is picturesque, and the motto Virtute duce, comite fortuna translates to "Under the guidance of valor, accompanied by good fortune" or as an alternate translation, "Led by virtue, accompanied by good fortune." (Latin's a little finicky.) Anyway, if you think about it it's sort of like the amazing gryphon is giving you a pep talk.

For extra funsies, the Latin motto used here also happens to be the family motto of the Davis family of Northamptonshire, England. So if you're a Davis, you definitely need this. Who else might want to wear the printer's mark of some old dead guy? Book nerds, that's who. Modern-day printers. History buffs. The sort of people who'd paint a sick gryphon on the side of their van. If you're any of those things, this is just the thing for you! If you're not, it's the perfect gift for that person in your life who is exactly the right kind of nerd!

This slim, fitted v-neck is made with Airlume combed and ring-spun cotton. What does that even mean? It means it's cozy and fashionable and... cotton-y.
